Tiger Bay Ramblers is run by a friendly team of volunteers who are elected each year at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), usually held in October. Below, you’ll find details of our current committee members, their roles, and a little bit about what they do.

Chair - Andrew Osborne
This is Andrew's third period as Chair. Andrew is keen to encourage members to lead walks and is himself passionate about leading groups on scenic walks in the South Wales Valleys.
Responsibilities
- Approving group weekends and holidays.
- Chairing committee meetings.
- Overall running of the group.

Walks - Matt Levan
Matt Levan has been an active and much-valued member of TBR since 2011. Over the years, he has contributed an enormous amount to the group, leading many walks and organising a number of memorable holidays. He has become a key part of the group.
Responsibilites
- Encouraging members to contribute walks to the walks programme.
- Arranging walks planning meetings.
- Reviewing walks submitted to the programme to ensure that descriptions are accurate, walks are within the capabilities of the walk leader, and that scheduling is sensible.
- Sending out weekly emails with details of any walks that are scheduled for the following week.

Secretary - Julia Banks
Julia has been a member of the group since 2009. Much like many of the rare birds she enjoys spotting, Julia is seldom seen on our walks, but it is always a pleasure when she makes an appearance. We are delighted to welcome her to the committee as she embarks on her maiden voyage in this new role.
Responsibilities
- Taking minutes at committee meetings.
- Liaising with area and national committees.
It is unlikely you would need to contact the Secretary directly as it is largely an internal role.
Membership - Helene Hayes
Helene has been a member of Tiger Bay Ramblers for over 15 years. She's met great friends and her partner through TBR, plus the walks have led to her being bitten by the Camino bug. She owes a huge amount to the group, so it's about time she took on a committee role! With a big thank you to Carrie for all her contributions to TBR, Helene now leads on:
Membership Responsibilities
- Maintaining the group membership records.
- Adding or removing people from the web site.
- Adding or removing people from the group email distribution list.
- Adding or removing people from the group Facebook page.

Socials - Jane Ellis
Sane has been a member of TBR since 2012 and believes that the fun, friendships and social side of Tiger Bay Ramblers are just as important as the walking. This is her third stint on the committee having twice held the role of Committee Secretary.

Web - Dee Lally Osborne
Dee has been a member of TBR since 2004. Over the years she has taken on a variety of roles, including Walks Planning Officer, Social Secretary and Web Officer. She has organised numerous Christmas parties and weekends away, helping to keep the club's social calendar thriving. However, she may be best remembered for occasionally persuading unsuspecting members to take part in a spot of amateur dramatics, whether they wanted to or not!
Web Responsibilities
- Maintaining the group's infrastructure (web site, mailing list servers, etc).
- Keeping the group's web site software up to date.
- Updating the group's web site.

Treasurer - Sarah Delaney
Sarah has been a member since 2004 and will be a valued addition to the committee. Having worked as an accountant for many years, she brings a wealth of financial expertise and a reassuring eye for the numbers. With Sarah keeping watch over the finances, members can rest easy knowing that every penny is accounted for... and that any suspicious expenses may be subjected to a thorough audit! We are delighted to have such a safe pair of hands on board.
- The Treasurer is an important committee member responsible for managing the club’s finances, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and helping the club remain financially sustainable.
- The role supports the smooth running of the club by overseeing income, expenditure, and financial reporting.
Ella McDonald & Matt Tosdevin - Young Persons Officers
Ella and Matt are responsible for championing the Tiger Bay Ramblers 18-30s Group, helping to recruit new members, encourage participation, and ensure younger walkers feel welcome and involved. As ambassadors for the next generation of ramblers, they will be tasked with proving that walking is more than just putting one foot in front of the other; it's a great way to explore the outdoors, meet like-minded people, and discover parts of Wales you never knew existed. If the original Tiger Bay Ramblers are anything to go by, their greatest success may be recruiting so many enthusiastic walkers that, in 25 years' time, someone else will need to launch yet another "young persons" group for the members they bring in today.

- Promoting the group.
- Updating the group's Social Media feeds with information about historic and upcoming public events.
