Tiger Bay Ramblers is run by a friendly team of volunteers who are elected each year at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), usually held in October. Below, you’ll find details of our current committee members, their roles, and a little bit about what they do.

Chair - Andrew Osborne

This is Andrew's second period as chair following a 9 year break. Andrew is keen to encourage members to lead walks and is himself passionate about leading groups on scenic walks in the South Wales Valleys.
Responsibilities
- Approving group weekends and holidays.
- Chairing committee meetings.
- Overall running of the group.

- Encouraging members to contribute walks to the walks programme.
- Arranging walks planning meetings.
- Reviewing walks submitted to the programme to ensure that descriptions are accurate, walks are within the capabilities of the walk leader, and that scheduling is sensible.
- Sending out weekly emails with details of any walks that are scheduled for the following week.

Secretary - Asta Smith

Asta returns the committee after a 5 year hiatus. Prior to that Asta enjoyed a 4 year stint as secretary, 1 year as Social Secretary and 1 year as publicity officer. Asta is looking forward to reopening communication with the Glamorgan Area group and Welsh Council where she has a been member of both committees.
Responsibilities
- Taking minutes at committee meetings.
- Liaising with area and national committees.
It is unlikely you would need to contact the Secretary directly as it is largely an internal role.
Membership & Publicity - Carrie Moss

- Maintaining the group membership records.
- Adding or removing people from the web site.
- Adding or removing people from the group email distribution list.
- Adding or removing people from the group Facebook page.
If you have any membership related queries including needing access to any of the group resources.
- Promoting the group.
- Updating the group's Social Media feeds with information about historic and upcoming public events.
It is unlikely you would need to contact the Publicity Officer.
Socials & Web - Dee Lally Osborne

Socials Responsibilities
Dee has been in TBR since 2004. This is her second stint on the committee. She has been Walks Planning Officer and is currently the Social Secretary and Web Officer. She bravely stepped into the large shoes of Steve Folkes who has been updating the website to make it more user friendly for an enthusiastic member to take on this role on.

- Sending out weekly emails with the details of any social events that are scheduled for the following week.

Web Responsibilities
- Maintaining the group's infrastructure (web site, mailing list servers, etc).
- Keeping the group's web site software up to date.
- Updating the group's web site.
You notice problems with any of the group's infrastructure. Note that if you are unable to access any group infrastructure when you first join the group, you should contact the Membership Secretary first to ensure you have been given access.
Treasurer - Vacant
- The Treasurer is an important committee member responsible for managing the club’s finances, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and helping the club remain financially sustainable.
- The role supports the smooth running of the club by overseeing income, expenditure, and financial reporting.
This position is currently vacant. In the interim, the Chair is covering the Treasurer’s responsibilities to ensure continuity. However, we are keen to fill the role as soon as possible to share the workload and ensure our finances are managed effectively.
